The first meeting of NRG Committee took place on September 15, 2008 and generally defined the following objectives of the Committee.

1. To identify the problems faced by NRGs visiting India and /or those who are willing to get settled in Gujarat for business and industry and to examine how the Chamber can address these issues.

2. To organize lectures on relevant subjects of business and industry by eminent visiting NRGs.

3. To establish contacts with NRGs involved in business and industry, and for this purpose to create a database about them. Such database may also include information about the outstanding professional skills of eminent NRGs with the aim to make use of them for Gujarat.

4. Special expertise in the economic matters of the NRGs who have returned and settled in Gujarat may be utilized for the business community of the State.

5. To assist in channelizing investments of NRGs in Gujarat, and at the same time try to assist them to solve any problems faced by them in this regard.
