Apart from office Bearers of the Chamber and Chairman of Non Resident Gujaratis Committee, Mr. Parimal Nathwani, Member of Parliament and President of Reliance Industries Ltd. was present on the occasion.

President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce signed two MOUs with Shri Mukund Purohit, President of Gujarati Business Assoiciation, Toronto (Canada) and Shri Harish Dhruv, Trustee, United Federation of Indo-Americans of California,(USA) on 10th and 17th January 2009 respectively. As per terms of these MOUs, GCCI and these two organizations will help in promoting mutual interests of their members.

Shri. K.H. Patel, Chairman of NRG Committee of GCCI, was invited as Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function of the Seminar on the Non Resident Gujaratis organized by North Gujarat University, Patan, on 19th January 2009. On that occasion, a MOU for Cooperation was signed by North Gujarat University and West Chester University of Pennsylvania, USA in the presence of Shri. K. H. Patel.
