With a view to bringing Gujarati diaspora closer to the mainstream of Gujarat, the Chamber took initiative for the first time in 2008 to establish a NRG Committee under the chairmanship of Mr. K.H. Patel, former Indian High Commissioner to Uganda and Ambassador to Rwanda and Burundi. Mr Patel had rendered services on special diplomatic assignments at United Nations in New York and other Indian Missions abroad. He had also been a Director on the Board of Directors for the Non-Resident Gujaratis Foundation, Government of Gujarat. His other significant contribution is as a Trustee of the Gandhi Ashram Trust, Sabarmati |
